It’s National Hat Day, and if you know me, you know I’m celebrating!

From the sun bonnets of my childhood, the head coverings of my teen and young adult years, to the many hats I wear today, I’ve always loved hats.

Me at 21, with a different head covering style.

While head coverings are part of my mother’s heritage and religious tradition, hats also connect me to my dad’s Eastern European heritage and family.

And finally, me enjoying a snow day.

Here’s my favorite song about hats by Steeleye Span.
